Keller House Struck by Lightening

May 8, 2019, Keller, TX – Severe weather rolled through the Metroplex this morning, and it’s likely that lightening caused this house fire. NETCOM dispatchers answered the call around 4:40AM and sent police and firefighters to help. The initial alarm included Keller Battalion Chief 58, Truck 581, Quint 583, Engine 582, Medics 581 and 583, as well as Colleyville Battalion 24, Engine 243, Southlake Battalion 40, and Engine 402.

Initially nothing was showing from the outside, but shortly after, crews found smoke and went to work. It’s believed there was fire in the sub-floor. About 5:06AM Truck 581’s crew called a Mayday emergency requesting assistance due to deteriorating conditions on the 2nd floor. I believe Engine 582 was working below. Command quickly sent the Rapid Intervention Team(RIT), Colleyville Engine 243, along with Keller firefighters to help locate the crew in distress. Fortunately, everyone was found safe and they were all able to exit the structure.

An additional alarm brought crews from Bedford Air 151, Haltom City Rescue 47, Hurst Truck 202, Watauga Quint 311, Westlake Engine 481, North Richland Hills (Q221, I think), and Fort Worth Engine 37 and Battalion 6, as well as Keller’s CERT for rehab.
