2 Alarm Quadplex Fire in Bedford Fire Service House Fire Incident January 24, 2026January 24, 2026 Bedford, TX January 23, 2026 – About 5:15 a.m., dispatchers received reports of a fire and sent an engine and police to investigate. Police officers arrived quickly locating a house on fire. Dispatchers upgraded the call to a structure fire sending all Bedford FD units and automatic-aid from Hurst. Engine 153 arrived reporting a quadplex with heavy fire visible from the roof. The side-by-side layout and fences between the small backyards for each unit prevented a full 360. Engine 153 made an interior attack from the front. As other units arrived, Engine 152 pulled a backup line and Truck 154(reserve apparatus) searched along with Medic 153. Battalion 15 requested a 2nd alarm that brought additional help to the scene and backfilling Station 1 from Colleyville, Euless, Grapevine, and North Richland Hills. The construction and layout of the quadplex was challenging. Firefighters were ordered out of the building for a defensive attack with Truck 154’s aerial which helped gain control. Once master stream operations were complete, crews began gaining access to the compartmentalized and complicated mansard roof. One Bedford firefighter suffered a minor burn and was treated after the fire. Several people were displaced and their homes and belongings damaged. The cause of the fire was not known at the time of this post.
