Hurst, TX March 18, 2026 Shortly after 4 a.m., dispatchers toned out a house fire on W. Cheryl Ave. Hurst police officers and firefighters arrived quickly, followed by Bedford Truck 154 and Battalion 15 from automatic-mutual-aid. The initial size-up indicated fire and smoke from the garage of the two-story A-frame house. Several attack lines were pulled as crews went to work searching and attacking the fire. Bedford Truck 154 assisted with ventilation. Command requested additional units to the scene, including North Richland Hills Engine 223 who served as Rapid Intervention Team (RIT) and Medic 221 for medical standby. The bulk of the fire was quickly knocked down, but some remained in walls which was difficult to access. Command switched to a defensive attack with the aerial master stream and handlines briefly, before returning to interior work. The fire was declared under control about 5 a.m. I’m unaware of any injuries or the cause at post time.
