New Truck Training

Bedford, TX May 18, 2020 – Crews began training on their new 2019 Spartan 100′ mid mount, aerial platform. It carries a full complement of ladders, 300 gallons of water, 30 of foam, supply line, and the typical hand and power tools. The platform features a parapet wall ladder for easier access to the many commercial structures that have them. A representative from the manufacturer trained FD crews and a city mechanic. The apparatus was purchased through Metro Fire Apparatus Specialists.

The new apparatus should go into service once all crews are trained and some additional tools are installed over the next couple of weeks. Recently, Bedford moved their current truck, a rear mount, Spartan from Station 3 to Station 1, and the engine that was at Station 1 moved to Station 3. Station 2 recently received a new Spartan engine with graphics and paint that match the new Truck. Now all front-line apparatus and MICUs sport the black over red paint scheme. The NEFDA asset, Air 151, is now located at Station 3. The current truck will remain in service as a reserve at Station 1.
