Denton Opens New Training Center

February 23, 2019 13:00 – Denton, TX – Denton Fire Department held a grand opening for their new training facility at 4201 Vintage, Blvd, which is also home to Station 7. – Their Pipes and Drums played, and the Battalion Chief Michael Bardwell shared some opening remarks, followed by Mayor Chris Watts, and Chief Kenneth Hedges. Then the Chief and Mayor cut a ceremonial ribbon/beam with a cordless cutter normally used in vehicle extrications. Afterwards, everyone was invited to tour the 6 story training tower. Guests were also invited to work a fire hose flowing from Engine 3. The Denton Fire Training Division trailer caught my eye, and I had to ask what the heck it was. It’s a pump training simulator that will be used instead of an apparatus. Visit https://www.firedepartment.international/manufacturing/ for more information.
