Early Morning 2 Alarm in Southlake

Southlake, TX – September 8, 2021 01:57 NETCOM Fire Alarm dispatchers sent Southlake and Grapevine crews to a house fire. Grapevine Engine 2, stationed close by, arrived quickly. Their size-up reported a 4,000 square foot home with fire through the roof as they stretched an attack line. They made it upstairs, pulled ceiling, and attacked the fire, requesting a 2nd line be stretched from the next arriving crew. Southlake units arrived quickly and joined the fight. Conditions worsened, and command ordered crews out for a defensive attack, including aerial master streams from Ladder 403 and Grapevine Truck 1, which was part of the 2nd alarm. Once the master streams were flowing and the majority of the fire was knocked down, crews returned to work inside. The house appeared to be vacant and possibly be going through renovations. There were no known injuries. Other cities including Colleyville and Bedford were part of the 2nd alarm and provided fill-ins as needed.
