Grapevine Freezing Fire

Grapevine, TX February 17, 2021 – Amongst the hundreds of calls worked in recent winter weather and power outages, Fire Alarm dispatchers received numerous calls reporting a house fire off of Hall-Johnson. Grapevine police officers and firefighters were dispatched, along with automatic-mutual-aid from Colleyville. Fire crews reported seeing a header, indicating a working fire. PD arrived first reporting a vehicle and house involved. Battalion 1 arrived quickly reporting fire mostly on the exterior with some interior involvement. Engine 3 caught the hydrant and laid in, going to work with Engine 4. A second line was stretched. Truck 1 arrived and cut a vent hole in the roof. Temperatures were in the mid to upper 20s with snow and ice still on the ground and roads, making for more challenging conditions that usual. Fire was found in the attic and quickly knocked down, and crews focused on salvage operations to prevent further damage to the home and contents. There are no known injuries.
