Sunday Afternoon Fire

Colleyville, TX January 31, 2021 12:58 – NETCOM Fire Alarm dispatched a possible structure fire. Reports were that pool equipment near a home was on fire. Battalion 24 arrived to find a 2 story house, with smoke showing from the eves and an apparent working fire, providing plenty of work for Engine 242, Engine 243, and Truck 241. Mutual-aid was requested from Keller, Southlake, and Bedford.

Engine 242 was assigned fire attack and stretched a line. Truck 241 performed a 360, reporting active fire on the Charlie/delta corner with fire outside and in the attic. There was a small explosion in the back porch area as crews were preparing their attack. A second line was pulled. Bedford Engine 152 was assigned RIT. An initial attack was made outside and then crews moved in through the garage to the attic. Battalion 15 was assigned Safety Officer. Engine 243 supplied Engine 242. Truck 241 and Keller Truck 581 prepared for aerial operations, but fortunately they were not needed. Bedford Air 151 responded to refill air bottles on scene.

It appears the fire was stopped from extending into the main part of the house. However, it’s likely there was heavy smoke and possible water damage there. There are no known injuries.
