House Fire in Bedford

Bedford, TX – January 19, 2021 09:53 Construction workers in the area called 911 to report smoke coming from a house in the 1200 block of Wedglea Dr. Dispatchers sent Bedford police and firefighters along with automatic-mutual-aid from Euless FD.

Chief 154 reported smoke showing from a distance and a working incident was declared. Medic 151 arrived, first reporting fire from the A(front side) of the single story, corner house. Battalion 15 took command, making Truck 151 fire attack. As other units arrived, a second attack line was pulled. Neighbors reported that there were likely several dogs inside. Engine 152 made a search, Medic 151 worked a blocking line. Engine 153 was assigned to vertical ventilation. Medic 153 picked up Air 151 to resupply air bottles on scene. Unfortunately, several animals did not survive. Bedford Animal Services and utilities were requested to the scene. After cutting a hole in the roof, Engine 153 performed a secondary search. Command put the fire under control at 10:41. At 14:22 command was terminated. The fire is still under investigation.
