Grapevine Apartment Fire

Grapevine, TX – December 17, 2020 08:08 – 911 Dispatchers received numerous calls, reporting a fire. Police and firefighters were dispatched. A police officer arrived reporting smoke showing and responding firefighters also reported a header while on the way. Engine 3 arrived reporting a possible chimney fire from the two story apartments, and went to work with an 13/4″. Colleyville Battalion 24 and Truck 241 responded mutual aid as a working fire was declared. Battalion 1 arrived reporting smoke from chimney as well as eves, and established command on the A side. Chief 1 arrived and assumed safety. Truck 1 and Quint 5 aerials were set. Quint 5’s crew was assigned as RIT. A 2nd line was stretched as crews searched for the fire, possibly in the attic. Truck 1 reported a good knock on the fire and a primary all clear and requested tarps for salvage. There were no known injuries at post time. A fireplace was being used. As seen at another recent fire, a drone was used to aid in locating hot spots. Southlake, Euless, and Bedford, and probably other departments I missed, either responded to the scene or backfilled Grapevine stations.
