Eddy Wood Firemanship Training Benefit Fire Service Traditions Training February 9, 2020February 9, 2020 February 8, 2020 – Fort Worth, Texas: The Frontier and HOT F.O.O.L.S. (Fraternal Order Of Leatherheads Society), held two days of the Eddy Wood Firemanship Training Benefit. Chief Wood is a well-known and respected leader in the Texas fire service community who is battling cancer. Friday’s (2/7/2020) lectures as well as Saturday’s hands on training were held at the Bob Bolen Public Safety Complex and supported by the Fort Worth Fire Department. From their Facebook post: “2 days of Firemanship with the F.O.O.L.S and Fort Worth Fire Department partnering to benefit our Brother, Chief Eddy Wood at the Ft Worth Fire Training Center. FD Tactics Training is coming on day 1 with guest speakers on Leadership and Tactics. Chief Howard Rinewalt, Chief Mo Davis, Capt Clyde Gordon and Capt Clifford Reed. Smoking J’s BBQ food Truck for lunch with all profits going to Eddy Wood. T-shirt pick up and sales at benefit. Day 2 HOT Engine work, forcible entry and search workshop with some of the best Instructors from Houston, Montgomery County and our Big Brothers from Heart Of Texas F.O.O.L.S Bring structural PPE, SCBA and mask optional for day 2 search with smoke conditions.” Several North Central Texas College Fire Academy cadets attended along with many veteran firefighters looking to sharpen their skills, learn new techniques, and support a brother. The event was supported and attended by firefighters from Arlington, Azle, Bedford, Benbrook, Eagle Mountain, Euless, FWNAS, Frisco, Grand Prairie, Grapevine, Parker County, Weatherford, others I might have missed.
