Garage fire goes to 2 Alarms

November 13, 2019 14:47 – NETCOM Alarm received reports of a house fire in Colleyville, sending fire and police units from Colleyville, as well was automatic mutual aid from Bedford and Keller. Units reported heavy smoke visible prior to arrival. Engine 242(a reserve truck) arrived to find a fully involved garage on the A/D side of a 2 story home. Truck 241 arrived behind them, along with the rest of the 1st alarm. Several attack lines were pulled off of E242. A primary search and check for extension into the house were performed.

The initial attack suppressed the bulk of the fire. However, the deep-seated fire required much more work. Command requested a second alarm bringing Euless, Grapevine, Haltom City, Hurst, and Southlake. Eventually, crews had to switch to an exterior attack, as well as using the aerial master stream from Truck 241. The garage appeared to be a total loss, and the home was certainly damaged by smoke and water.
