Bedford Dedicates New Equipment Apparatus Ceremony Fire Service Traditions September 19, 2019September 19, 2019 September 18, 2019 (B shift) – Bedford Fire Department welcomed into service a new MICU for Medic 151 as well as a Rehab 15. Chief Sean Fay began the traditional wet-down/push-in ceremony with a few comments, followed by Deputy Chief(EMS) Mark Williams, and Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association (CFAAA) President Kim Brown. Several city officials and many of the CFAAA members attended, along with Bedford’s EMS Director, Dr. Malone. Medic 151 is a Horton body built onto a Ford F-550 chassis and sports the black over red paint scheme. It’s expected to provide up to 10 years of service (6 or so on the front line, and 4 as a reserve). Rehab 15 was made from re-purposed traffic enforcement trailers donated to the CFAAA by the police department. Firefighter Lt. Lance James and CFAAA rehab members put hours of work into building the trailer. The rehab team is called out to provided support(water, refreshments, cooling/heating, etc.) at extended incidents.
