January 28, 2019 at about 3AM, Grapevine 911 dispatchers responded to calls reporting heavy smoke from Bakers Ribs, near Grapevine Mills Mall. They dispatched their own police and fire departments, as well as requesting help from Coppell, Flower Mound, Bedford, Euless, Southlake, and possibly others who assisted either on scene, or by providing coverage for other calls in Grapevine during the multi alarm fire.

Unfortunately, the business was heavily involved as Grapevine crews arrived. Command quickly shifted crews to a defensive attack, including Reserve Quint 5, Truck 1, and Coppell Truck 123 hitting it from above as well as numerous hand lines from the ground.

The Grapevine Citizens Fire Academy Alumni Association was called in for rehab.

Mutual aid crews were being freed up around 6AM, but Grapevine crews will certainly be on scene a great deal longer.
